Hi friend! In case we don't know each other yet, my name is Juliana Belmonte. I'm a Brazilian Animator, 2D Builds Artis and Rigger, and Background Painter. I'm sometimes based in Toronto, Canada; and sometimes in my hometown, Rio de Janeiro.

I attended Sheridan College in Ontario for my Honours Bachelor of Animation, and before that, UFRJ in Rio de Janeiro for Graphic Design. I have worked in TV Animation with Copernicus Studios, Pipeline Studios, and Estúdio Campo 4. I am also an alumni from EEA and former president and co-founder of the Women in Animation chapter at Sheridan College! My personal projects include my thesis short film, "Ancestrais"; I have also been a co-producer for two group short films, "Solstice" and "Trip&Treasure". And last but not least, I also have experience in editorial and commercial illustration, such as book cover design and magazine spreads. You can check more of my work in the tabs above!

As you can see, I enjoy wearing different hats and have experience with several roles in creative production, from authoral work, to managing people, to good old brick and mortar drawing and animating! I believe in staying curious and having fun with my work. Not to be all cliché, but drawing is my passion and I bring that fire with me everytime I try on a new role.

My work is informed by all things fandom - I grew up on the internet drawing my favorite characters and sharing work with other artists, so I believe in the power of collaborative storytelling. I enjoy character-driven stories, raw, emotional humor and coming-of-age narratives. I believe animation is for everybody, including (but not limited to!) those of us who are adults who never forgot our inner child.

If you're interested in my work, please feel free to send me a message using the form below!

Love, Juli
